Coronavirus: the final event of “Metti in scena l’italiano” canceled
As required by the recent Decree of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers aimed at containing the spread of the new coronavirus epidemic, all public and private events involving crowding of people such as not to allow compliance with the safety distance of at least one meter. For this reason, the final event of the project “Metti in scena l’italiano”, co-financed by the European Union, National Operational Program Legality 2014-2020 – FSE / FESR, with the Municipality of Capo d’Orlando as leader, has been postponed to a date to be defined.
The final event was scheduled for Wednesday 12 March at the Rosso di San Secondo Theater.
The project involved Municipalities, Comprehensive Institutes, Associations and companies in the provincial territory and proposed the learning of the Italian language as an instrument for integration and social inclusion for people who come from outside the European Union.
The technique used was that of theatrical language teaching through the Glottodrama Method, which uses a laboratory and cooperative teaching method to help students learn Italian through acting. After two weeks of classroom training for a total of 40 hours aimed at 15 teachers from schools and CPIAs, theater experts, Sprar operators, municipal employees, members of associations, in Capo d’Orlando, Patti and Milazzo, 90-hour courses were activated with classes made up of 15 foreign people.
The final event that was to take place at the Rosso di San Secondo theater would have included the staging of a show prepared by the students who took part in the courses.
